world of alibis

Published by kitoy under News, Opinion, Politics

The Office of the Ombudsman today will conduct its initial public hearing on the ZTE broadband deal scandal. Aside from former Comelec chair Banjamin Abalos, First Gentleman Mike Arroyo was also invited to the hearing. These two guys are believed to be behind the controversy.

But it seems that Mr Arroyo is making another lame excuse as his lawyer made a last minute announcement that his client could not make it to the hearing today due to health reasons.

What an alibi again? If he’s really ‘ill,’ why he can make some foreign trips? Which, I think,  more stressful than sitting in an air conditioned room and tell a lie?

Another alibi, is the denial of the PNP that the security camera that was setup in front of La Salle, Greenhills is not a surveillance camera. So why in the world that the camera was just setup when Senate star witness Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada and his family has temporarily sought refuge from the religious group.

Police said it was installed to monitor traffic. Well, thanks to Lozada, traffic is now being monitored in the vicinity after he moved in La Salle.

Safekeeping

Published by kitoy under Media, Politics

Whatever happens, the Philippine National Police will keep on denying that they did not abduct ZTE broadband deal star witness Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada Jr. Otherwise, it’ll just fuel the people’s  outrage against this shaky government.

Then, how do you describe that incident? Isn’t it ? Ah, maybe they will just call it ‘ for safekeeping.’ The same thing that also happened during the Manila Pen siege when the police arrested journalists. They called it for ‘processing.’

So, what next after Lozada’s expose? Could we expect another Edsa? I bet the Palace is now formulating solutions to rebut Lozada’s statements. And if what are these solutions, we’ll have to wait for it. I’m sure it isn’t just purely statements, it would come with a force.

Who will save GMA?

Published by kitoy under Politics

The GMA is facing another storm and she should deal with it. Like in many other controversies, his husband Mike Arroyo is involved.  The expose of Rodolfo Noel Lozada is another slap in the face — not just on GMA, but as well as on the President’s men particularly resigned Comelec chair Benjamin Abalos.

Lozada’s revelation yesterday was really earth-shaking when he disclosed the initial details on what really went wrong with the controversial ZTE Broadband deal.

For sure, this would trigger another public outcry and would renew the calls on GMA’s resignation. Actually, some senators have already called the resignation of GMA. Worst comes to worst, GMA has already built her shield — the extension of her ever loyal AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon.
