Covering the ‘Evil’

Published by kitoy under Media, News, Photojournalism

Every time I’m invited to cover a Presidential visit, I always had a second thought if I should go or not. Because aside from it’s not my primary job — as journalist — I hate the powertripping of the PSG men. I understand their job but sometimes they are too much. Not just the PSG but as well as some Presidential Management Staff people. Continue Reading »

Safekeeping

Published by kitoy under Media, Politics

Whatever happens, the Philippine National Police will keep on denying that they did not abduct ZTE broadband deal star witness Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada Jr. Otherwise, it’ll just fuel the people’s  outrage against this shaky government.

Then, how do you describe that incident? Isn’t it ? Ah, maybe they will just call it ‘ for safekeeping.’ The same thing that also happened during the Manila Pen siege when the police arrested journalists. They called it for ‘processing.’

Currently, television network giants are into ‘network wars’ due to alleged manipulation of TV ratings.

Published by kitoy under Business, Cartoons, Media

Cartoon by Keith Bacongco

War does not only mean ‘actual shooting’ or ‘actual combat.’ War is not just you see in your screens or newspapers. It does necessary mean armed groups shooting each other. Even politicians are into war — war in the political arena. Often times called ‘word war.’

Lately, we heard about the TV networks’ war — GMA vs ABS-CBN. These giant TV networks have been into war since then. They are fighting over the rating — if who should be the number one TV network in the Philippines. Continue Reading »
