This morning, I’ve read on Carlos Conde’s website — The Pinoypress — regarding the cancellation of his own Facebook account. I followed the link on his site about the story behind the extremely popular social-networking site. I created my account about three or four months ago after some friends and colleagues encouraged me. They said it’s better than Friendster.

Out of my curiosity, I signed in to Facebook. I found a little amusement on Facebook than Friendster. I also found out that even top photojournalists in the country have their own account in Facebook, too. I know how busy they are but they still have time to tinker on the pages of Facebook. Finally, after months of weaving , Kidapawan City’s official website is now up and running. The domain, however, is still temporary because the city government have yet to secure the free .gov.ph. The site will be launched on August 21 as part of the Fruit Festival celebration in the city. Although some sections of the site have yet to be improved, the basic information about Kidapawan City is already available.

The site features a slideshow of different faces of Kidapawan City. It has an online forum and a blog, which is open to all Kidapaweños to contribute blog entries. Interested bloggers may register on the site.

Some of my friends — Bisaya friends — also tried to swallow dialog of the Ilonggo videos. Although they cannot really understand the dialog, they’d still laugh. The redesigned website of Legal Rights and Natural Resources Center - Kasama sa Kalikasan (LRC-KsK) is now live. Thanks to Studio Arsenic  for  doing a great job. Although some sections have to yet be  filled in, major sections are already available. Photo galleries will be updated within a week. But the basic information about the group is already online. The photos in the slideshow are from different LRC-serviced communities.
