Goodbye Task Force Davao?

Early this morning, I’ve heard again a radio commentator blurting on the dismantling of Task Force Davao. There is no finality yet on this report. Even TF Davao commander Col. Alan Luga has already said that the fate of TF Davao remains on the hands of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
While some groups are calling for the dismantling of the unit, some have expressed concern on the security of the city should the TF Davao would be dismantled. But the Philippine National Police has also assured that they are ready to secure the city.
The TF Davao was created to augment the security of the Davao City following the bombings of the Davao International Airport and Sasa Wharf in 2003. They are currently securing the main gateways to the city — Panacan and Toril areas. Some of them are also manning the overland terminals, seaport and airport.
Even without the TF Davao, we can also take part in maintaining the peace and order of the city. The key here is: vigilance.
Are you ready?
