LRC-KsK’s new website

The redesigned website of Legal Rights and Natural Resources Center - Kasama sa Kalikasan (LRC-KsK) is now live. Thanks to Studio Arsenic  for  doing a great job. Although some sections have to yet be  filled in, major sections are already available. Photo galleries will be updated within a week. But the basic information about the group is already online. The photos in the slideshow are from different LRC-serviced communities.

History repeats itself

The news below is no longer new for me and maybe for the others, too. Given that the police themselves could hardly identify the beheaders of the 14 Marines, they may arrest the wrong ones. This has happened before. In the past,many were arrested after being mistaken as Abu Sayyaf members. It’s a cycle.

I think the goverment forces cannot do this alone, the MILF too should also cooperate in identifying the beheaders.

The specter of random arrests in connection with the July 10 beheading of 14 Marines in Al-Barka, Basilan, following an encounter between government troops and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front looms over the people of the said town. This is because the warrants of arrest issued for 130 suspected members of the MILF and the Abu Sayyaf alleged to have been involved in the encounter that was followed by the beheading includes several John Does.
